Think About Your Driving, Will Ya?

Every time I get on the road I wish I could teach most of the drivers how to drive. One topic I would cover is "Maintaining the Flow of Traffic".
For example: Driving in the city center on the main road there will be opportunities to turn into a parking lot or an alley or a gas station, whatever. What I find frustrating for a driver trying to re-enter the main street is the practice of some drivers to slow down a half a block or more before a red traffic light and there is also a huge gap before there is another car approaching behind. If the driver did not slow down prematurely, the driver wanting to re-enter would have the opportunity. But no, the gap between cars is lost by the driver slowing down and the oncoming cars approaching at a faster speed. The driver wanting to enter traffic might have had the chance to do so ahead of the driver slowing down IF he or she could tell that the other driver was braking.
